GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF RENTAL

Article 1 - Purpose
These General Rental Terms and Conditions define the terms and conditions governing the booking, rental, and occupancy of the Gîte de la Plaine Champenoise.
Any booking implies full and unconditional acceptance of these terms and conditions.
Article 2 - Booking
A booking becomes effective upon receipt of:

the signed rental agreement;
-
a deposit corresponding to 25% of the total rental amount.
If the period between the booking date and the arrival date is less than 30 days, full payment of the stay is required at the time of booking.
The owner reserves the right to refuse any booking that does not comply with these conditions.
Article 3 - Payment
The balance of the rental fee must be paid no later than:
-
upon the guests' arrival; or
-
[number] days before the start of the stay.
Payments may be made by:
-
bank transfer;
-
cheque;
-
cash.
Article 4 - Security Deposit
A security deposit of €500 will be required upon arrival.
It will be refunded within a maximum period of 15 days after departure, less any deductions for damages, losses, or breaches of the rental conditions identified during the stay.
Article 5 - Check-in and Check-out
The following times apply:

Check-in: from 4:00 PM

Check-out: by 10:00 AM
Any late arrival must be notified to the owner in advance.
Article 6 - Occupancy
The property may accommodate a maximum of 10 guests.
Any undeclared additional guest may result in refusal of access to the property or additional charges.
Guests undertake to:
-
use the premises peacefully and responsibly;
-
respect neighbours and the surrounding area;
-
keep the property in good condition.
Article 7 - Pets
No pets allowed.
Pets are not permitted in the property.
Article 8 - Cancellation
Cancellation by the Guest
-
More than 30 days before arrival: refund of the deposit according to the terms specified in the rental agreement.

Between 30 and 7 days before arrival: the deposit shall be retained by the owner.

Less than 7 days before arrival or in the event of a no-show: the full rental amount remains payable.
Cancellation by the Owner
If the owner cancels the booking before the start of the stay, all amounts paid by the guest will be refunded in full.
Article 9 - Insurance
The guest shall be liable for any damage caused during the stay.
Guests are responsible for ensuring that they are covered by liability insurance, including holiday rental risks.
Article 10 - Inventory and Property Inspection
An inventory and property inspection may be carried out upon arrival and departure.
Any damage identified may result in deductions from the security deposit.
Article 11 - Cleaning
Guests agree to return the property in a reasonably clean and tidy condition.
Article 12 - Linen and Equipment
The property is equipped in accordance with the inventory available on-site.
Any loss, breakage, or damage to equipment, furniture, or household items may be charged to the guest.
Article 13 - Liability
The owner shall not be held liable for:

theft or loss of personal belongings;
-
temporary interruptions of utilities or services (water, electricity, internet) beyond the owner's control;
-
external disturbances or nuisances for which the owner is not responsible.
Article 14 - Personal Data Protection
Personal information collected as part of the booking process is used solely for the management of the stay.
In accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), each guest has the right to access, correct, or request deletion of their personal data.
Article 15 - Disputes
These terms and conditions are governed by French law.
In the event of a dispute, the parties shall first seek an amicable settlement.
Failing such settlement, the French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
